Auditions for the 2014-2015 season

 

All auditions will take place at the St. Louis Stake Center
map to St Louis Stake Center :

 

New choir member auditions:
 

Thursday,  May 1                          Saturday, May 10

6:00-9:00 pm                                 8:00-12:00 noon

 

Youth must be entering grades 9-12 this fall in order to audition.

 
Perform a selection of your choice, no longer than one minute in length. Bring a back up CD or MP3 for accompaniment or provide sheet music for our pianist. Art songs or Broadway musical numbers are the best to audition with. Please avoid bringing EFY or popular music. Those playing an instrument are encouraged to prepare an instrumental audition piece as well. 

The audition will consist of a small portion of a solo piece, some sight-singing, as well as a short questionnaire on basic music fundamentals.
Please dress appropriately for your audition. A button down shirt for the young men, or a skirt for the young women helps to make a good first impression. Of course, all who audition are expected to be in line with the standards stated in "For the Strength of Youth."

For $10 you can surprise your special sweetheart or friend with a Singing Valentine delivered by smartly dressed members of the Rising Generation Youth Chorus.  A gift of either a rose or chocolate bar will accompany all in-person deliveries.  Phone deliveries will receive two songs in lieu of the gift.   You may also donate a Valentine to be delivered to a person at a nursing home or hospital (to be determined by Rising Generation).
